Lightning Thieves, Radio Reporters and Nature Investigators. | Print |

It’s been another busy week in and out of school this week.  Year 3,5 and 6 have all been out and about to extend and enrich their learning.  Year 3 spent the morning yesterday in the woods acting as Nature Investigators.  It was my pleasure to sit in on the lesson in the afternoon when they returned, full of interest, excitement and joy of discovering new things.

Year 5 were also out yesterday.  They traveled by train to Gunwharf Quay to see the film “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief”, which ties in wonderfully with their studies of the Greeks.

Year 6 were also in Portsmouth on Wednesday, visitng the D-Day Museum to further their learning about World War II and to practice their skills as radio reporters.  They were most fortunate to have a visit earlier in the week from a parent who is a journalist by profession.  He was able to give them tips and strategies for being effective on-the-spot- reporters.
