Graduation and Prizegiving - Winners Announced | Print |

Yesterday evening saw the second Graduation and Prizegiving Evening for our Year 5 and 6 children and their parents.  At St James’ we appreciate the huge significance of moving from primary to secondary school and mark it each year by saying a formal farewell to the children in the presence of their parents and the children in Year 5.

Each of the Year 6 children received their ‘moment in the spotlight’, hearing a citation – an appreciation of all they have become and achieved – read by Mr Gallop.  They also received a gift from the school – a superb Cerutti 1881 roller ball pen in a beautiful case, engraved with the words ‘St James’ 2010’. These are generously provided by the SJA.  We also take this opportunity to welcome Year 5 children into Year 6 with the joys, privileges and responsibilities that this involves.

We also present a number of prizes in such categories as academic achievement, academic progress, creativity, sportsmanship, determination and citizenship.  There is also a prize for citizenship for Year 5 children.

This year’s winners (including names of sponsors and criteria for winning) are set out below.

Honk! - A Terrific Production | Print |

I write this looking back on four wonderful performances of ‘Honk’ our Summer Production, based on the story of the Ugly Duckling.

The juniors’ end of year production is always a much anticipated highpoint of the year here at St James’ and this year was one of the very best, judging by the comments from parents and friends in the audience.  Several things impressed me.

By Special Request - Tigers Assembly | Print |
A number of parents have asked for Tigers' Aseembly to be made available online.  Having asked parents and having received no objections, it's now available here on the Tigers Page on the Pupil Pages.
